David R. Nash

Associate Professor (KU)

My main interest is in the coevolution of symbiotic systems, particularly the selection pressures and evolutionary pathways operating on the border between parasitism and mutualism. I am responsible for CSE's research theme Social Parasitism, which primarily uses Maculinea butterfly parasites of Myrmica ants as model social parasites to examine questions of coevolution and host specificity. Additional model systems are the ant social parasites of Myrmica and leaf-cutting ants.
